No more :-(

Now for some bad news. Previously I've been making custom orders quite regularly, but lately we've had to re-evaluate things.

Customs tend to be more time consuming and usually mean we don't have time to actually stock our store.

As of next year, there will only be limited spots available at each stocking - probably just a few packs each time.

The Night, Day and Bulk Custom spots listed on my site now will be the last ones available for a fair while, so get in quick if you don't think you can wait :-)

At the next Night Nappy stocking we'll be introducing Minky Version 1s!
These have an inner layer of 300wt or windpro and a soft minky outer layer.

These are for Miss T - The lucky first to try them out :-)

My working Christmas

I did want to take a few days off for Christmas but I fell behind on orders when my machine decided to break on me.

Still managed to get these done though!

A tip for you all... move house to somewhere near a Wahm and you don't have to wait for your fluff! :-p

This week's work...

Well things were delayed this week more than I would've liked. Michael smashed his head on the shelf in the garage on Friday and has been out of action (and very whingy) ever since.

Happy to get these orders out though - it's looking positive that I'll be able to get all outstanding orders posted by christmas.

Kirsty is the talented Wah Mumma behind Dragonfly Magik, our second favourite brand of nappies, Lol!

Of the little girl that gets to wear these!! :-)

I love making all customs, but girly ones are especially fun. I think I need to set aside a weekend of sewing just for Sarah. She needs some cute nappies for summer and only has one Minky Nic Nap that fits her!

So here's a sneek peak of what will arrive at a lucky someone's house tomorrow. ;-)

Changes at Nic Naps!

Things have taken off quite quickly lately so I've had to call in some help - in the form of my DH Michael!
He will be in charge of all the boring stuff that I don't want to do. Cutting fabric, preparing nappies, product photos... cleaning up the mess I make. (Hehe!)

Michael is quite knowledgeable of MCN and the fabrics used because of having to listen to me blabber about it for 3 years, so if you are having any issues contacting me you can contact him at michael at nicnaps dot com :-)

What this will mean for us is that production will increase so we can comfortably stock Nurture Nappies and our own store with Night Nappies and customs more regularly. Lead time on customs will most likely be shortened and order processing will be sped up.
I have an anxiety disorder which stops me from driving so previously I've had to wait for Michael to be off work to be able to drive me to the Post Office. With him working with me, orders will be posted generally on the day that payment is received.

Night Nappy Stocking

Going live in just under 3 hours - things you need to know!

Types

Nic Naps Nights are available in two different versions. Description below taken from our 'Products' page.

Version 1 is made with an outer layer of Malden Mills 300wt or Windpro fleece. This fabulous fabric wicks moisture away so baby stays dry without a cover!

The breathability of this fabric is what makes it a great option for long periods like overnight.

For the super wetters out there, Version 2 offers an outer layer of 200wt Malden Mills or Baum fleece, with a hidden layer of PUL. For those with babies who generally out wet fleece nappies, the PUL layer helps ensure your baby wakes up with no leaks.


Boosters

Both versions have a set of snap in boosters. A bamboo fleece trifold with an attached 2 layer strip gives 8 layers of absorbancy. Added to the top booster which has 2 layers topped with microfleece, and a 3 layer sewn on flap, this nappy gives a whopping 13 layers of bamboo fleece.



Both boosters seperate and have no more than 3 layers sewn together to decrease drying time. Microfibre strip boosters are available on request if needed, to be inserted in the trifold.

Sizing

These are made using our regular AIO pattern with extended wings.
Medium is to fit roughly from 6-11kgs.
Large to fit from 10-16kgs.

Because the Large size is fairly low rise, the crossover wings means that testers have found this can fit babies under 10kgs.
My daughter was wearing one from around 8kgs, although the medium was and still is a trimmer better fit.

For those that would prefer a higher rise for older toddlers, size large long will be available at the next stocking.


How many?

There are 20 in stock nappies available tonight, 16 Large and 4 medium.
More larges were made because of the larger weight range they cover, but medium custom slots will be listed for those with smaller bubs who want the trimmer fit.

Night AIO triple packs, Minky AIO 6 packs and Minky AIO customs will also be listed.

They're ready!

Finally ready for release, our new night AIOs will be stocked Monday night at 8.30pm. (Sydney).
Things have been quite busy around here lately with all of Mum's hospital appointments, so this first stocking will consist of only 20 nappies.
A mix of sizes, versions and closures.
